Waterway Labs @ 16 Tech will be a 5-story, 100,000 gross square foot life science lab building adding to the 16 Tech ecosystem.
16 Tech is coming to life—and more growth is on the horizon. By 2030, the 16 Tech Innovation District will be home to more than 3 million square feet of office, lab, retail and residential space, more than 3,000 jobs and will have invested more than $3M into resident-led projects to support our neighbors.
Waterway Labs @ 16 Tech will be a 5-story, 100,000 gross square foot life science lab building adding to the 16 Tech ecosystem.
The Central Green will provide a welcoming, beautiful outdoor environment that connects to walking and biking trails that weave throughout the district and link to surrounding communities.
Residential 1 will be the first multifamily housing project at 16 Tech. It will include 250 units, connecting residents to a seamlessly integrated live-work-innovate community.
The 16 Tech Bridge will span Fall Creek, creating a direct connection between 16 Tech, the IUPUI-hospital district and downtown Indy. It’s scheduled for completion summer of 2024.
16 Tech opened a new 650 car parking garage behind HqO in 2022.
The first completed building in the district, Innovation Building 1, opened in August 2020. A state-of-the-art office-lab building whose tenants include the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership and its initiatives, Indiana School of Medicine and various startup labs.
The Emerging Manufacturing Collaboration Center (EMC2) will offer state-of-the-art equipment and space.
The innovation hub is home to flexible and private office space, the Machyne makerspace, and the AMP, an artisan marketplace and food hall showcasing local culinary entrepreneurs and vendors.
The central gathering place of 16 Tech where district residents, workers, neighbors and visitors go to eat, drink and enjoy a variety of events and programs. Located in the former headquarters of the Indianapolis Water Company, the innovation hub boasts three unique activity centers, flexible office and meeting space managed by 76 Forward, a makerspace and an artisan marketplace and food hall.
THE AMP
Featured in the New York Times named one of “The Top Ten New Food Halls in the U.S.” by Fodors, the AMP is an artisan marketplace and food hall featuring more than 20 restaurants and retailers. From emerging businesses to established shops, the AMP offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Grab a bite, enjoy a drink or host your own event.
MACHYNE
Machyne is community-based makerspace where corporations, startups, hobbyists and students can bring big ideas to life.
Test out a new product or experiment on a project while enjoying the support and camaraderie of a group of innovative makers.
OFFICE SPACE
16 Tech offers private and flexible office space and individual coworking memberships. Members enjoy access to meeting rooms and gathering space, as well as programming and support designed to incubate ideas, connect entrepreneurs and launch companies.

The 16 Tech Bridge will serve as a vital connector, spanning Fall Creek from the IUPUI medical/research corridor to the 16 Tech Innovation District. Design and development of the bridge is currently underway.
