As part of the physical development of 16 Tech, 16 Tech Community Corporation specifically encourages the participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) in the design and construction of the 16 Tech Innovation District.

The participation and workforce utilization goals below apply to the construction projects in the district whether led by 16 Tech Community Corporation or private sector development partners.

DIVERSITY PARTICIPATION GOALS

⋅ 15% participation of Minority Owned Business Enterprises (MBEs)
⋅ 8 % participation of Women Owned Business Enterprises (WBEs)
⋅ 3% participation of Veteran Owned Business Enterprises (VBEs)
⋅ 1% participation of Disability Owned Business Enterprises.

WORKFORCE UTILIZATION GOALS

⋅ 15% minority employment
⋅ 8% female employment
⋅ 25% residents of Marion County

To help achieve these goals, 16 Tech Community Corporation has partnered with Nubian, a minority-and-women-owned business, as a diversity consultant to work with 16 Tech and its partners. Nubian’s work includes outreach events and coordination of public reporting on progress toward goals for projects in the district.
