16 Tech Names Robert F. Herzog as Chief Financial Officer

The 16 Tech Community Corporation has named Robert F. Herzog as Chief Financial Officer. In this new role, Herzog will lead the financial operations for the 16 Tech Innovation District.

The 16 Tech Innovation District, located on the near west side of downtown Indianapolis, is designed to ignite collaboration among innovators and entrepreneurs in life sciences, tech, advanced manufacturing and engineering in an urban live-work-play-learn environment.

“Having Robert on board is another positive step for the 16 Tech Innovation District,” said Bob Coy, president and CEO of 16 Tech. “Robert joins our team during a time of significant momentum, and he will play an important role in our mission to drive Indiana to the next level of global innovation leadership.”

16 Tech and Browning Davis broke ground in December 2018 on the district’s first new building, a 120,000-square-foot, $30-million innovation office building. The 5-story building will be the headquarters of the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI), the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), including its talent and industry initiatives, and researchers with the Indiana University School of Medicine’s newly established Indiana Center for Regenerative Medicine and Engineering, a molecular therapeutics program and technology incubator. Construction of Innovation Building 1 is expected to be completed in May 2020.

Prior to joining 16 Tech, Herzog served in various executive roles in the higher education, corporate and professional services sectors. He brings more than 25 years of experience in complex financial and real estate transactions to 16 Tech.

Herzog is active in the Indianapolis community as a board member of Summer Stock Stage and The District Theatre. He also served as a past board member of Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, Indianapolis Public Library Foundation, the Indianapolis Arts Council and Gleaners Food Bank of Central Indiana Inc.

Herzog lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Kay, and their two children.
