If you have access to a laptop\, I would suggest bringing it just in case there are not enough chromebooks to go around. If your child is under the age of 12\, you must be present at all times. If your child is over 12\, you’re welcome to stay all the same\, and hey\, maybe you’ll learn something about computers/coding\, too! \n  URL:https://16tech.com/event/coderdojo-workshop-10/ LOCATION:Machyne Makerspace\, 1220 Waterway Blvd\, Indianapolis END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Indiana/Indianapolis:20230513T130000 DTEND;TZID=America/Indiana/Indianapolis:20230513T150000 DTSTAMP:20240329T110430 CREATED:20230425T140129Z LAST-MODIFIED:20230425T140129Z UID:226646-1683982800-1683990000@16tech.com SUMMARY:CNC Plasma Cutting Training DESCRIPTION:In this class\, you will have the opportunity to create your own custom sign-up to 12″ x 24″ out of 16-Gauge mild steel. Additionally\, you’ll become certified in the use of the STV CNC Plasma cutter at Machyne Makerspacee. \nThe table is 48”x96”\, and the torch is a Hypertherm65\, which allows the cutting of up to ½” thick steel. You will learn how to take a 2D vector design and convert it to the CAM file necessary for the plasma table. The different types of lead-in/lead-out cut paths will be discussed\, as well as the difference in kerf (thickness of your cutting lines) based on material thickness\, amperage\, and plasma cutter tips. Different design techniques specific to CNC plasma cutting will be discussed\, such as stenciling 2D designs\, or taking 3D designs and converting them into 2D patterns which can then be plasma cut in 2D and then folded on a brake or with hand tools into a 3D shape. The Hypertherm65 can cut mild steel\, stainless steel\, and aluminum. \n  URL:https://16tech.com/event/cnc-plasma-cutting-training-2/ LOCATION:Machyne Makerspace\, 1220 Waterway Blvd\, Indianapolis END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
